Three weeks old!

Time sure flies when you're having fun! The puppies are now three weeks old. Their little personalities are starting to develop. For example, Patty likes to be heard. She will strut around the playpen and bark her commands as she goes. Of course the other puppies pretty much ignore her which only makes her more determined to let them know she is in charge!

Most of the boys are pretty content to lie around and sleep most of the time. Charlie Brown is usually wherever Mom is. Either getting a snack or snuggling with her.

The pretty girls, Sally and Frieda are getting prettier every day! I am really going to have a hard time choosing one!

Well, here they are. A bit early for stacked photos but you can see their spotting and their cute little faces.

Chrismas eve and seeing spots!

Well it is Christmas Eve. I hope you all have your Holiday shopping done, I do (I think). The puppies are enjoying themselves as much as two week old puppies do. They are starting to get their eyes open and spotting is showing through nicely. Now is when things really get exciting!

All but one puppy has full eye and nose trim, which is very nice at this stage of the game. They are wobbling around like little spotted Weebles and some are beginning to get vocal. Demanding the milk bar be open 24/7 so they can partake at their leisure!

Here are some pics I took today, hope you enjoy them!

Here are Frieda, Sally, Shermy and Lucy at the milk bar.

How could anyone resist this little face?! This is Violet, taking a break.

Here are all 10 from above. You can really see the spotting coming through here!

One last look at the spotting showing through.

Good intentions

I had intentions of putting up some more pics of the Charlie Brown Christmas litter this morning. But thinking the flash was making the pups look too washed out I turned it off. None of those pics were any good. So I will try again late. I think my camera battery was also going down so will charge it up and take some more pics this afternoon.

I did want to get the ones that did turn out (the ones where I used the flash) so you can get an idea of how the spotting is starting to come in. Most everyone has complete nose trim now and you can see eye rims on most.

Here are some of Charlie Brown, enjoy!

And here is one of Schroeder

More later!

May I introduce you to...

The pups are 1 week old now and I have finally decided on a theme for the litter. I don't alwsy do themes but sometimes it's just a fun thing to do. Anyway, the theme for this litter is "A Charlie Brown Christmas." I have 10 of the characters from the cartoon/movie so let me introduce you to them.

This is Charlie Brown

Linus

Violet

Lucy

Snoopy

Sally

Schroeder

Shermy

Patty (not to be confused with Peppermint Patty)

And Frieda

The pups are one week old now and I have begun the Bio Sensor exercises developed by the US military. Based on years of research, early neurological stimulation exercises have important and lasting effects.

Five benefits have been observed in canines that were exposed to the Bio Sensor exercises and they are:

1. Improved cardio vascular performance
2. Stronger heart beats
3. Stronger adrenal glands
4. More tolerance to stress
and 5. Greater resistance to disease.

Here at last!

They're here!!! After a very long night Saturday and a trip to the vets on Sunday, I am happy to announce the arrival of the Jack and Whoopi pups!

First let me show you pics of both Jack and Whoopi...

CH NspirD Holiday With Smiln Dal, aka "Jack" Pictured at the Dalmatian Club of America National Specialty. He was Winners Dog to finish his AKC Championship. He also received an Award of Merit.

Smiln Dal's The Color Purple, aka "Whoopi" Pictured at 5 months. She is now 2 1/2.

Here is Whoopi 9 days before delivery. What a huge belly!

Here is a pic of the puppy room. Notice Cruella Deville will be watching over the puppies for me.

I use a kiddie wading pool for a whelping box. It is easy to clean and gives both mom and pups plenty of room to move around.

Pongo and pups are directly over the wading pool.

Here's mama Whoopi and her babies.

And here is a close up of the babies. Can you spot all 10 of them? There are 5 boys and 5 girls. All are black spotted. Weights are from 8 ounces to 16 ounces. But all are healthy and are thriving!

We are accepting applications, which can be found on the Puppies page of our website. www.smilingdalmatians.com  And stay tuned for more as the puppies grow and develop. I will  be updating over the next 8 weeks from eyes opening to leaving the nest and everything in between!

Almost 3 weeks

Today the Jack and Pita puppies are 3 weeks old. Last weekend I had a chance to go and see them so we took a few pics for you.

Keep in mind that they are not quite 3 weeks old in these, so could not really get them to show stack.

This is the one and only boy in the litter. We are calling him Blue collar, also Blue flower collar, which is not very masculine but he doesn't know that!

You can see his nose is almost completely filled and eye rims are filled all the way around.

Spotting is nice, not too open and not too dark. Just right!

This girl has a Pink colored collar with a blue stripe.

Nice nose coverage.

Spotting is pretty good too!

Gold colored collar with a red heart, girl.

We think she was a little premature so has some catching up to do. But her nose is looking good as well as eye trim.

She has the most spotting of all the puppies. But even she is not that dark.

This is the Pink and teal collar girl.

Her nose has a ways to go but it will fill.

But her spotting is very nice!

And last but certainly not least is Pink collar girl.

Full nose trim.

She has beautiful hand painted spotting!

Well, that's it for now. We will  be updating whenever possible. So stay tuned!
